yes - for formatting - but the record pointer shouldn't change until after all group breaks on it have finished - which in this case - means until after the page break. but alas, no worky. As further eveidence - a variable I set up with the exact same "reset" as the group page break works fine in the footer.

No biggie - got around it easily enough. Just wondering if it was a "known issue" - thanks!

>The behavior seems reasonable to me since you (apparently) have the field printing in the _page_ footer and not in the _group_ footer (is that correct?). You probably want it in the page footer for formatting reasons, yes? Hmm...

>>I have a report with a page footer that prints fields from the current record. My top-level group is set to start on a new page. All works fine unless the last page of a group has no detail records in it and all that prints on the last page is the group footer and the page footer. In this case, the page footer is picking up the NEXT record rather than staying on the current record until the group changes on the next page. I can work around this with variables, but just wondering if there is a KB on it someone knows about.
