Ah, but by killing everyone else's offspring, your kids will have a better chance because they have less worries in competition for limited resources. Of course there is a downside -- by this strategy you're limiting the gene pool, so there will be other worries down the line... Perhaps you could use a strategy of producing offspring through as many mates as possible to try to minimize the problem? (i.e. practice polyandry or polygyny, depending on your gender) You may also have to occasionally perform "culling" or "weeding out" to make sure you don't start having too many undesirable traits.
