I have a header detail form in a multi user environment. The header table has buffering set as Optimistic Row Buffering and the detail table is set as Optimistic Table buffering. In the grid there is a procedure that is called to populate one of the columns with a description based on a column in the detail table. I have set multilocks on, tables are opened by the form in the data environment, tables opened as shared, no buffer mode set for the form and the form runs in a private data sesseion.

My problem is that sometimes when a user opens the form the grid does not populate and becomes grey and the form and application hangs up. The whole program has to be killed and restarted. Sometimes when the form is open and detail lines are captured in the grid the same refresh and freezing will happen.

What can I do stop this or what am I doing in my form that is wrong?

What buffermode should I set on any of the lookup tables on the form?

I am getting a lot of heat from end users. Can anbody help?
