>>Anyone watching this LA Cop story?

>>I live in Temecula. If on the map above you zoom out enough you'll see Corona and Riverside to the north, Los Angeles to the northeast, and Big bear east of Riverside, making a trianguular area.
>>
>>Corona is where one cop was shot and Riverside is where 2 other cops were shot, one killed. Big Bear, where they found his truck, is an hour east of Riverside. San Diego is to the south, where this guy was staying in a hotel.
>>
>>
>>So basically I'm right in the middle of all this. There are a lot of cops out and I'v seen a few checkpoints.
>>
>>I hope they bag this guy quick.

>Christopher Dorner is 6’ tall and weighs 270. He drove a white pickup truck. Two Latina women were in a blue pickup truck delivering the LA Times newspaper, and the police opened fire, putting the 71 year old in the hospital with two gun shots to the back. No warning was given. Hey it has four wheels! Dorner must be inside! Shoot to kill! Count the number of shots into the truck.

>Now some of you will rationalize that it is all right for the police to shoot anyone in the “line of duty”. Others will say it is all right to shoot Latinos and Latinas. The cops in California shoot who ever they please and nothing is done about it.

>What Dorner did was inexcusable! They may find out that he was fired because he told the truth but his reaction to the event cannot be forgiven.

>I think they will find him in the Spring thaw, and he will not be alive. He is in some rough country.

I don't think it's all right for the police to shoot anyone and I don't think most cops do, either. Sure, there are some bad apples. I just think they do a very dangerous job and I respect all of them unless they give me a reason to think otherwise.

Obviously this is anecdotal but I had a neighbor in Chicago who was with the CPD. His daughters went to school with mine and we took turns car pooling. Once my daughter asked Jim if he had ever been in a situation where he was scared. He said sure, lots of times. He said the worst time was a domestic disturbance call, which he said are known for being volatile. The husband grabbed a gun and aimed it at Jim. They wound up wrestling on the floor with Jim trying to get the gun away before it could be used. He said I was literally fighting for my life. There aren't many jobs like that. Software development has its challenges but we know we're going to come home at night.
