(1) The link I provided
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSXML says that msxml 4.0 was an independent install
(2) This link
http://fox.wikis.com/wc.dll?Wiki~VFP9RuntimeFiles says you have to install msxml 4.0 if you use XmlAdapter
So, I think msxml4.0 is part of the vfp9 ide install - hence it worked for you in the ide
If you want it to be available in the runtime - you have to install it
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15697That is part of my vfp9 runtime installer
(3) The reason msxml 6.0 worked is that it is installed with windows
MSXML 6.0 MSXML6 is the latest MSXML product from Microsoft, and (along with MSXML3) is shipped with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, .NET Framework 3.0, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows XP Service Pack 3msxml3.0 is used by IE 6. 7 and 8 - hence XmlToCursor will work without installing it
