John, this is completely unrelated to the topic. I feel like I have failed repeatedly to accurately express my feelings about the military to you. Maybe this will help. It comes from an unlikely source, last night's David Letterman show. I don't imagine you watched it. The show and the audience are left leaning, as am I (especially these days). The main guest was a guy named Clinton Romesha, a Sergeant who received the Medal of Honor earlier this week. He was the fourth living recipient of the Medal of Honor. I'm not sure whether that is ever or the fourth who served in Afghanistan. IAC he was treated with tremendous respect and appreciation by both Dave and the audience. They didn't get into too many details. About as much as he would say is I only did what anyone else would do. You don't leave your buddies behind or let the enemy take them. He was the first guest on the program, ahead of movie stars, musicians, anyone. At the commercial break the names and home towns of the eight soldiers who died in that battle were displayed. I guess I am not the only one who appreciates soldiers without having been one myself.
