Shy one I see. Bonnie, no way in the world you could have been as shy as I was once - now no one can get a word in. I was so shy it's amazing I ever asked my wife to marry me (I probably mumbled it - I was so scared to be honest don't remember asking her....:) )

It's one of those things you just have to force yourself to get over no matter what your age or it does hold back opportunities and new experiences . I will give you a good way to start getting over it: go to a busy Post Office or the Mall or Target or WalMart - and just greet everyone that comes in for about 20 or so minutes. Do this several days. Small kids (under 10) are the easiest ones to talk to, older lonely people are next. Ask them how their days a going, smile at the kids and say something nice about how they dressed or somthing. Any male you speak to will greet you back with a smile and hello. Say more than just Hi. If needed tell them you working on a project - "getting over shyness" - people will laugh with you and it will help.

Up till 4 years ago I had never sang "solo", now I do it all the time anywhere. Even though I beat my shyness decades ago, it still lingers there and I never thought I could do those "solo" songs, but ... it get's easier.

Hope this helps...

Mel
