>>>I have seen shotguns with pistol grips. I wonder if that would be classified as an assault weapon?

>>I think in the eyes of the Feinstein Law advocates the determining factor is "scariness" (and whether or not the model is grandfathered in to appease constituents and prove the whole law is an empty gesture of all form and no substance)

>Unless you're a COMPLETE idiot, I should think that any gun (rifle/shotgun, etc) pointing at you would top off the 'scary' scale - even the pink ones. And who's damn bright idea was it to make pink ones? And please don't tell me it's to attract women shooters. Any woman who shoots will be the first ones to curl their lips at pink. "Oh, it's to make them less scary" "Really? I would think it would be scarier, since it pretty much guarantees that whoever is holding it doesn't know what they're doing"
I completely agree. The definition of a scarey gun that should be banned is the one in the hands of someone who wishes me ill. The kind that should be legal, protected, and unrestricted are whatever I"m carrying.
I'm not big on pink guns but then I"m not much for chrome plating and pearl grips either. ( my biggest complaint is the failure of the industry to make ergonomically designed handguns. web to trigger pull contact is really really important and if you have really big hands most handguns today are almost impossible to handle correctly.)

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy
Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.
-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin
Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
