I guess it shouldn't, as the buffers for tables open are still on the same machine, not traveling through the network. TS sends/receives only keyboard, and mouse traffic one way and screen updates and perhaps printer traffic the other way.

From what I read it now also includes sound both ways, which is not in widespread use because it created some bugs and requires a special switch when building an app (in compilers which have that switch, /TSAWARE or some such). It's the reason why Skype won't work on W2008.
