>Since Saint Patrick’s day is coming, can you tell me what you call the female equivalent of a Leprechaun? Just the sound of the word is a bit frightening.

The femail equivalent of a leprechaun? I've never heard of a female leprechaun, so I suspect by your wording you aren't actually looking for what a female leprechaun is called. About the only thing I can think of would be a faery. But since the sound of that word doesn't exactly make my blood run cold, I guess I have to concede that I don't know. There is the banshee, I suppose, but I wouldn't call a banshee the equivalent of a leprechaun. Is there an actual answer?
