Just ran into situation at customer site with a VFP program on a shared resource. One workstation was behaving as if it had a separate copy of DBF files. Shortcut looked OK, created dummy file at workstation, then found file at server. Did the opposite to confirm it worked as expected. Then looked at size of some tables -- sure enough the sizes show up as being different sizes w/ different timestamps. All of us were scratching our heads, then someone mentioned "Offline Files"... !!! (ding!)

Yep. Checked with Synch Center on the affected workstation... whadd'ya know.. the files that didn't match up were listed in the files with conflicts! Turned off Offline Files (and rebooted workstation) and problem "magically" went away.

Gak! Yet another thing (aside form the SMB2 and OpLocks) to add to list of things to be careful about...

BTW, the "Offline Files" feature is ON by default in Windows 7
