Hi Jos,

>A third party is sending me PDF files in an older Adobe format. The files are large and when opened and re-saved in the latest Adobe version they are much smaller. Is there any way to automate this open/re-save action from within VFP or a tool that I can use to do this? I know I can Google but I'm looking for a tested solution/recommendation.

I'd be glad to get an answer as well. I have worked extensively on pdf lately and was impressed as well by the compression ratio achieved by Adobe products.

The bad news is I found no way to do it code-wise on win32. I have google and found no solution. Even the incredibly powerful quickpdf library offers very little in this respect.

The good news is that even the free Adobe XI reader does the job as well as the professionnal pro version. The basic product offers so much by the way that it is redefining what a pdf browser should be and do.

Great job by Adobe. Worth mentioning!
