We have tested several of our VFP apps in Win8 and they work the same as in Win7. They run in Desktop mode, rather than whatever the other new Win8 mode is called. It looks kind of like the basic UI fallback in Win7 when Aero is turned off, only without the Start bar (unless you download an addon like this one:
http://www.iobit.com/iobitstartmenu8.php).
