Hey Jos

You say,"...no visible speed improvements...". Do you not perceive any "non-visible speed improvements"? Like boot times - cold boot and wake from sleep. On my tablet, I noticed a definite speed increase over Windows 7 with Windows 8 when booting. To me, that's the best part about Windows 8.

>The only 2 reasons I am using Windows 8 is to (1) test and ensure all our stuff works 100% for clients (2) to show clients our stuff works on any version they may choose to move to. Otherwise I couldn't care less for Windows 8 or the Retro interface.

My most used programs are given fixed positions on the Taskbar, from left I have Opera, Otlook, IE and VFP9. To start and maximize/minimize Opera, I use Win+1. For Outlook it's Win-2, Win-3 for IE, VFP is Win-4, and so on.

If I'm on the start screen and want to get back to the desktop, I hit windows+D. It's become second nature and I've found typing in the name of the program to find it is easier and faster than navigating a hierarchical list of items. But again, how you work may differ from how I work.
