Hi Jos
>OK, MS Evangelist ... typing is easier than point and click ?
It's got nothing to do with being an evangelist. Even on my non-MS Apple-designed iPhone UI, I often end up having to use the search feature to find the one app icon in a sea of icons spread across multiple pages. One click and a swipe to the right starts the search feature. Sometimes the triple-click doesn't work. Then type "plane" then click takes a total of 8 'gestures'. One click to get to the first page, plus swiping (10 times) is 11 gestures. I then have to examine each icon (16 per page not counting the nested ones). Just figures the planets app is on the 11th page! :) Just moving my eyes over the icons takes longer than using search. Yes, the swiping and looking is something a chimp can do, but easy doesn't always mean better.

If I'm on the start screen and want to get back to the desktop, I hit windows+D. It's become second nature and I've found typing in the name of the program to find it is easier and faster than navigating a hierarchical list of items. But again, how you work may differ from how I work.
