>I am in the SSMS 2005 and I want to restore a backup but with a different name that the existing database (to compare the changes, if any). When I right mouse click on the Database I see choices Restore Database and Restore Files and Groups. Do I need first to create an empty database with a different name and then restore into it? (I have done it once before but forgot the steps).

What I do is to create another database then use the RESTORE command syntax with the MOVE parameter to tell where to store the mdf, ldf, etc.
