The comment about your teammate and client side doesn't make sense. No matter what language, you have to send HTML and javascript and css to the client. You can do that in either MVC or php. MVC has a fantastic dev environment, fully supports HTML 5 and CSS3 (it's the default in MVC4), ease of debugging (my php friends tell me it's almost impossible to debug), is unit testable, and the backend is compiled, rather than scripted.

>As always, Charles, thank you very much.

I doubt that I will do a lot in .net in the future, my teammate seems to be very php oriented. From what my teammate tells me, the difficulty is not in the server side (in our environment) but rather in the client side, as we intend to move our vfp based system to the net.

Our existing system was succesful because it was customer tailored, and I was lucky (I now know) to have developed it in VFP. Our requirements make it necessary to go web now, mostly because the business has evolved.

>I have found that to get operational in PHP and then get some knowledge of the client side was a bit too much for me to chew, so I thought I'd get something working at the server side (in .net, and VB) so as to allow me to focus on jquery, and yes I know, Wizmo will be next.

>Any light you could shed on my conumdrum would be very welcome.
