Is SET ESCAPE scoped to the datasession?

>SET ESCAPE OFF can be used to suppress the "Executing Remote..." message when querying a large amount of data from SQL Server. It works, but I have to put that in a lot of places. I was wondering if a system wide setting was added in later versions of VFP, something along the lines of SET TABLEPROMPT or SET NOTIFY. Any idea?
