Hi All,

I'm using IIS7 on Windows 2008 Server. There is an option under IIS7 to use compression on HTTP requests. You can have static and/or dynamic compression on HTTP requests. This can save bandwidth and also make sites load faster.

When our applications make requests to our server using the HTTP protocol they call some script or other which then extracts some data and returns it to the user.

Question: will all content requested via HTTP through IIS7 be compressed if IIS7 is set to use compression as above? Or does this only occur if the client is a browser application? How can I test whether I am getting sent a compressed packet back or not?

TIA
