First, keep in mind that VB is not a database development system, like foxpro. So, you will find that VB does not support a lot of the database-oriented functionality that foxpro does.

Second, using the combo in the dbgrid ain't as intuitive as in foxpro. Go to http://www.apexsc.com/dbgrid/survivalkit.html where you can download a tutorial with samples on how to do this.
