Yes, disabling SMB2 forces the computer to use SMB1. Technically speaking SMB2 does some things more efficiently. In practicality, I've never encountered any drawbacks from using SMB1. From what I understand SMB2's big purpose was to avoid possible patent infringement by SMB1.
