Actually problem is, I think, with Windows 8. Client has a network that has been running our VFP app fine for 3 yrs. He upgraded one pc to Windows 7 about 8-9 months ago and everything seemed to be running fine. Then last week we started having a problem. The operator would generate several cash receipts transactions and when we went back to print the register they weren't there. Not deleted, just not there. I found out during our conversation, that they had just upgraded two pc's to Windows 8 about the same time this started happening, about a week ago.

An additional problem we started having is with our cdx files. I will reindex the databases and the same afternoon the index files seem to get corrupted.

So I'm wondering if its a server problem, a switch problem, or OS conflicts.

Has anyone had a similiar problem? On Windows 7 and 8 machines do you need to run in the 32bit emulation mode? Does this possibly have something to do with a memory cache problem?

I think I have finally convinced them to upgrade their version of VFP. I'm hoping that will help.

Any advice will be appreciated.
