Thanks for idea - but it didn't work - just to reconfirm I did

1) issued getfile() from command window
2) clicked on "Details" button at top
3) Right-clicked in file area - chose Arrange:By Name from menu
4) clicked back on "List" button at top
5) all "looks" right at this point
6) hel Ctrl-Alt-Shft down and while holding, clicked on "X" close box to close dialog
7) noticed that command window et al disappeared and only reappeared when I let go of Ctrl-Alt-Shft
8) Re-issued Getfile(), but still appeared in reverse order

Any ideas? TIA

>>In short, My GetFile() comes up listing everything in reverse alphabetical order. I can set to view details and then right click to "Arrange by name" and it sorts correctly for THAT time. As soon as I re-issue Getfile() - back to reverse order. This has only been happening a couple days - so obviously something happened, although for the life of me, I don't know what. Windows Explorer seemed to be effected until I fixed it under general folder options. It is fine now Word, Excel, etc never seemed to have the problem .

>>I know it's probably something real obvious, but can anyone help?
