A couple of days ago I created a new gmail account (for a customer) and now they have a question that you can uncheck (I can't remember exactly the caption) but I believe this will opt you from your emails being scanned.
And I love the Google maps and streetview, and street navigation. I simply choose to see the glass half full <g>.

>It would be nice if Google followed its own corporate mantra "do no evil". Scanning emails, tracking everything you do, not protecting user privacy (looks like the EU is going to levy some hefty fines on this one), locking specific companies out of their APIs (probably illegal), streetview has gotten them in trouble in some countries, GoogleGlass is already starting to see pushback (as I predicted), promoting paid ads with higher results in searches, then not differentiating between paid results and those that aren't. This list is just the tip of the iceberg.

>>As to "how bad Google is" I can't disagree with you more. Google, as a company and as Google search, changed the world in so many ways; to the better. I can't say enough praise about it.

>>As to specifics of Google toolbar. Two features I use a lot:
>>1. When reading a non-english web site I can hover the mouse over a word and see instant translation
>>2. Check button to spell check what I have just typed.

>>Can the above two items be done with IE 10?

>>>Really? After all my discussion of how bad Google is? What is it giving you that isn't native in IE?
