A couple of days ago I created a new gmail account (for a customer) and now they have a question that you can uncheck (I can't remember exactly the caption) but I believe this will opt you from your emails being scanned.
And I love the Google maps and streetview, and street navigation. I simply choose to see the glass half full <g>.

Scanning emails, tracking everything you do, not protecting user privacy (looks like the EU is going to levy some hefty fines on this one), locking specific companies out of their APIs (probably illegal), streetview has gotten them in trouble in some countries, GoogleGlass is already starting to see pushback (as I predicted), promoting paid ads with higher results in searches, then not differentiating between paid results and those that aren't. This list is just the tip of the iceberg.
