I just received an eMail from Microsoft. They want me to confirm my eMail address. It was sent to an account that Microsoft did not have. How did they obtain it? Gee, I wonder?

The way you defend Microsoft is reminiscent of a zealot defending his/her religion. Blind faith. Condemn all others. It does get sick, listening to your old song and dance.
