We use it for our enterprise apps and we do fairly extensive consulting on VFP-to-Web in general and FoxInCloud in specific.
The idea of FoxInCloud is not to convert to another plaform, but rather keep your VFP code base and allow FiC to translate it into HTML and Javascript. Then you can develop updates etc in your VFP code base and FiC will simple re-translate. You could use the app as a standard desktop app as well if you wished.
FiC provides tools that tell you what code changes might be needed in your VFP code. The changes are mostly very minor and are due to the differences in th HTML vs DOM object model. For example, stringy standalone prg's that call visual interfaces will havre to become forms or classes; you have to be public variables, and a few others.
The FiC product is amazing and the FiC people are very responsive to developer needs. if there is any drawback, it is a decided lck of thorough documentation on many areas. This is addressed in their road map, which they have met almost every objective for 5 years.
Thye web server needs to run vfp runtimes, so it must be a Windows server.
>Has anyone used "FoxinCloud"? I would like to put an app I made in the cloud (Linux) and I need some direction. Fox inCloud seems okay, but are there any others? Or is it necessary?
