I think Microsoft realizes that OS upgrades pretty much don't happen. Consumers don't do it. Enterprises don't do it. Typically, it comes with a new PC purchase rather than an OS upgrade.
>As always, good advice from Hank. But this speaks directly to the point : the most compelling reason to use Windows 8 is a retooled kernal and better performance. Metro is a failure and shows that they can take some really good technology and be clueless about how to market it or make a case for its adoption. Whoever told them people wanted their desktop to look like their phone was probably an agent provocateur from Apple or Google :-)
