MSIE can have network configuration problems with some software. Earlier this year when I had MSMail, I loaded IE and it fouled things up so much (deleted my IP address, etc.) that I recall spending 1/2 day repairing the damage, and never could send/rcve mail with IE. However, now with MS Exchange, IE works just fine. I've had NO crashes while using it, unlike Netscape (a couple a day)...I think I'll stick with it now.
I feel a little guilty supporting the MS monopoly, but hey, what can you do? If it works better, it works better...:+)
