>>In this market (and politics as well), whoever chooses to publicize two positions as the only ones worth considering, is usually both trying to build the frame for the big picture in a suitable way (suitable to his own goals) and also wrong. There are other positions along the line, beyond or between these, and outside of the line there's a whole space.

Seems to me people are too willing to listen to talking heads and then choose a position. In this case there are figures we can assess ourselves, so why not? Doesn't matter what the shouters say if you validate yourself. A lot of youngsters do that by default which is why they've ignored pundits to decide that Apple is cool and now Samsung is too. This also indicates a distrust of authority figures, so perhaps you're younger than the beard makes you look? ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
