I know of your great distaste for my postings, Naomi. Still, per your request, I offer this. It is my best offering to help not only your friend, but all people.

It's a thread I posted on Foxite describing why we (people) go through the things we do in our bodies (flesh) -- the emotions, the feelings, all of our actions which are not in pursuit of God's basics of living a proper, prosperous, healthy, normal, and expected life. I'm not sure which points can be uniquely extracted, so I post the link to the root at the top, and then each of my replies below can also be examined.

In short, it says we are fighting spiritual battles in this world. They are NOT issues of flesh. There are dark rulers and spiritual forces in high places making this world what it is. And our only defense is the Ephesians 6 armor. The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the:
(1) belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the
(2) breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your

(5) helmet of salvation and the
