>>>>And by the way a car has some actual uses for society and duh it's wasn't made with the sole purpose of killing so trying to link the two is also stupid.
>>>
>>>That's the way I look at it. As I pointed out to Jake last week you can look at risk-benefit ratio rather than fixating on just the risk. Assuming risk for low or no benefit is stupid.
>>>
>>>There are a few occupations such farmers and hunters where a case can be made that the benefit-to-risk ratio of owning firearms is reasonable. Not so for most of the US population.
>>
>>Yep - it's really simple concept, but obviously some people are in denial or think they're 2nd Amendment rights are about to be taken.
>>
>>Interestingly if you've been watching FOX news lately - these same idiots who've been jumping up and down for a couple of months about constitutional rights when it comes to the 2nd amendment are also the same people who this week seem to think that the Boston Marathon doesn't need any of his rights. They think he to be declared an enemy combatant despite the fact he is a U.S. citizen so I guess we don't care about the Sixth Amendment right to a fair and speedy trial, and the Fifth Amendment’s right against self-incrimination because they feel he should not have Miranda rights - they're saying Tsarnaev should be waterboarded...so there goes the Eighth Amendment’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment...ummm lets see here - Brian Kilmeade and Eric Bolling both called for the FBI to place listening devices in mosques, a violation of Fourth Amendment rights - so there goes that one. Oh and Bob Beckel jettisoned First Amendment rights by calling for a moratorium on Muslim exchange students. Ann Coulter took at stab at the Ninth Amendment by calling for the widow of the deceased bombing suspect to be imprisoned for wearing a hijab.
>>
>>Oh - but want you to get a background check before you get a gun --- aaaahhh no! What about the 2nd Amendment rights!
>>
>>What a bunch of freakn hypocritical a--holes. Now also keep in mind that over 30 years 3,400 deaths from terrorist attacks, meanwhile 900,000+ deaths as a result of guns. Where is the logic in all this??

>fwiw, I completly agree about those hypocrites. One of my more liberal friends emailed me about this. I enjoyed pointing out that he appears to agree with Judge Napolitano.

2nd amendment .... that's the one about a well regulated militia, right? ;-)

Have a good weekend!
