>>Hi,
>>
>>I am trying to connect (load main page) an asp.net application running on one computer on a wi-fi network from iPad.
>>
>>Some background information. I can access this asp.net app from another PC in the office (entering in the browser http://PcServerName/AppName/MainPage.aspx) This works. The PCs as well as iPad use the same router. In fact if I enter in the Safari on iPad address 192.168.0.1 I get the login screen to the router. But when I enter in iPad address I get message that the server cannot be found.

>>Does the above mean that something is not setup on iPad or on the PC hosting the application?

>Can you use the IP of the webserver instead of the server name? Sounds like the iPad is not using your local DNS (if there is local DNS).

I am always confused about the 'local DNS'. But I will run ipconfig on the PC where the application is running and try to access the application using IP instead of the server name. This is how I understand the url will change:
http://192.168.0.100/AppName/MainPage.aspx

Thank you.
