>>John, a number of years back Microsfot sent me their C++ stuff - right before they had MSDN and the cost was about $30 or so usa money. I kid you not, the box must have been three feet long and weigh 25 pounds and was just full of books. Was enough to scare anyone....:) Needless to stay, it just stayed in the corner and I never used it.
LOL. Once upon a time the FP box was a big block- not 3' though. ;-)
C++ was always seen as a Journeyman art. Many of us moved from ASM straight to a 4GL.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
