>>All Android devices have SQLite built in. It's close enough to a local cursor engine that I'm not sure a wholesale replacement would be necessary.
Yep. I'd go with SQLite instead of the dbc. It's pretty good- when experimenting for a plug PC (size of a plugpack with an RJ45 and a USB slot: plug, connect, go) we put a SQLite database on a memory stick to see if that would work as a way to distribute big lookup tables (over a billion records.) Couple of seconds to initiate then FAST soundex lookups. Would use it happily.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
