The modem was the fail-safe communication for the pharmacy to communicate back to the Insurance Third-Part for payments, if the Internet was failing (which was the primary link to the Third-Party). That is the reason we are keeping it around.

>Maybe rather than using a modem it's time to rethink what's actually happening on this communication interface and see if you can use the Internet or a network connection instead. It'll be a lot easier that way. Of course that may not be possible but if you control both ends then that may make sense.
