>>>Sooo..how many good guys shot a bad guy vs how many bad guys shot good guys? How many of these bad guys shouldn't of had a gun to begin with?

>>>Let me ask you this too. Do you give a crap that there has been 900,000 people shot to death over the past 30 years? I'm going to assume you care and, like myself, think it's a problem. What, if anything, do you suggest we do to resolve this?

>>Dig 'em up and bring 'em back as zombies? 'Cuz it seems to me that's your primary issue - that these 900,000 people wouldn't be dead if it weren't for guns - given all the screaming you're doing about them.

>If you're that big of an ass you want tell that to my friend who's teenage daughter was gunned down last year?

And NOW we get to the crux of it, you think you've got a personal stake in it and somehow you think that the rest of us just don't 'get it' because we've never had gun violence touch our lives. And you'd be wrong.

But, here's a clue - if all you do is run around and tell us we're stupid stupid STUPID and scream in our faces about 900,000 dead in the last 30 years, then yeah - eventually I'm gonna get REAL flippant about it, 'cuz now it's just fun watching you spin up to speed and obviously a waste of time trying to have an intelligent discussion about this.

So, let me make a couple of statements here:

Yes, I do give a crap that there have been 900,000 shooting deaths over the last 30 years - but I don't think we need more gun laws
Yes, I do give a crap that there have been approx. 900,000 stabbing deaths over the last 30 years, but I don't think we need more restrictions on access to knives
Yes, I do give a crap that there have been approx. 900,000 auto deaths over the last 30 years, and to be honest - sometimes I think we do need more restrictions on the privilege of driving a car.

And yes, auto deaths have been dropping over the last 10 years, and most of it is attributable to education and enforcement of existing laws. Why don't we try that with guns/rifles? Why don't we try to address mental health issues BEFORE a spree shooting looks like a viable solution to someone's problems? Why don't we try enforcing existing laws before we go creating other laws that we can't enforce? Why don't you put the time and energy spent calling the rest of us stupid stupid STUPID towards one of those goals?
