>>>>>>>>>>Not exactly true. Any licensed gun dealer at a gun show has to do background checks. Only private citizens can sell guns without a check. Of course, private citizens can sell/buy guns anywhere without background checks.
>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>Can some a private citizen buy lots of guns from licensed gun dealers before the show, pass the background check and get the guns and then sell them in the gun show for a hefty profit? Is there any limit on the amount of guns you can buy or sell (if you are not licensed)?
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>Sure they can. And all the gun's serial numbers will be registered to the citizen that can be traced back to them if they sell them to criminals.
>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>So, if I sell a gun to a criminal and the criminal do their thing with said gun, am I liable? that doesn't sound bad.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>Depends on circumstances but they could be. For me, I would not want to take the risk. The real issue is the gun show issue has been blown up to make headlines but is really not that big of a risk. There are lots of places for criminals to get guns.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>I just heard that last year, there was 77000 background checks that were turned down for purchasing guns. It is illegal for a felon to purchase a gun. There were only of the 44 of the 77000 that were prosecuted. What good are laws if they are not enforced.

>>>>>What do you mean what good is it?
>>>>>Helloooo you just said it kept the 77,000 bad guys from purchasing the guns didn't it?
>>>>>Of course when that happens they just go to a gun show and get one where there is no background check.....
>>>>
>>>>All that happened was the 77,000 bad guys were inconvenienced slightly by having to buy a gun through a non legal channel. Why didn't law enforcement follow up and arrest them for trying to purchase a gun?
>>>
>>>Mostly because we don't pay our police forces enough to hire enough people to do this.

>>So creating more laws helps because .....

>I dunno - I'm with the people saying there are plenty of laws on the books, why can't we enforce the ones we've got. And that's why.

Because the laws we have don't work - and many of the laws are designed to prohibit the police from actually doing an effective investigation - thanks of course to the NRA.
