Yes right. I actually have a wrapper for GetUtcTime() in wwIPStuff that returns the date as FoxPro timestring - that's why it is the way it is I guess :-) The other reason is that this also works for any dates not just the current time so it has more flexibility.

I've needed this quite a bit for interacting with other databases using UTC dates in the DB.

>Of course, if you can get Universal Time directly from the API ( If I remember correctly the function is GetSystemTime() ), why bother trying to go through the trouble of doing API calls to determine the offset just so you can do the computation?
