I've had to evacuate to higher ground a couple of times but this far no tsunami's of any real size on this island.

It is indeed a great place. The cost of living is a bit much...although now that I've been here a few years I've learned a lot of ways to save a few bucks. Smartest thing I did was ditch the car and opted for a 50cc scooter. 120+mpg & free parking everywhere I go...and of course due to the climate here I can ride it all year round...hehe. Of course you need the surfboard rack for it (see attached image)
