>>>Interesting. Just another reason for our stock market to tank. News like that or hearing that a tree fell in the woods, or a fly flapped its wings can set off our stock market in a negative direction. One thing for sure, the CEO's will get a bonus regardless of what happens to the world economy. :)
>>
>>While I fully expect the market to "tank" eventually, possibly back to 2008 crash levels, I am no longer in the camp that expects it soon. There are WAY too many analysists predicting a correction and the contrarian in me suggests that we're going higher. Once seemingly everyone is on board with the "market going higher" theme, that's when the bubble will burst.
>>
>>Obviously this is slightly toungue in cheek but combined with a number of other factors I've been following I just don't see this fizzling out soon.
>>
>>Of course, my recent predictions have been spotty at best so a complete collapse this afternoon would not surprise me. ;)

>Don’t you love the rationalizations as to why the stock market is up or down?

They are both ridiculous and entertaining. ;)

>Last Thursday they announced that unemployment was down and caused the stock market to go up. This morning unemployment is down and the stock market is down as of now.

I spend a great deal of my free time reading, researching and testing investment strategies. Where I used to dabble in trading, I'm now completely devoted to a long term income generation strategy. Since that change of focus the day-to-day only matters to me if it presents a better priced buying opportunity to lower my cost basis. Because of that, I can still enjoy having CNBC on in the background in the morning as entertainment. It's the only television "news" I can stand for more than 1 minute.

>Have you ever wondered where all those billions of dollars go when the stock market drops? :)

There are 2 sides to every trade.
