I'll have to look at VirtualBox next week. I'm not using MoleBox or Refox or any other utilities. I haven't installed any Anti-virus tools as Windows comes with Defender. I've tried every DEP setting. Visual FoxPro was installed via the original disks, which I'm having a problem finding right now. Cryptor should be able to find the Vfp8.exe, as I've added the explicit path to the WatchDll command and it still errors out.

>>I'm having problems determining if the InstallShield package works on another version of Windows. Unfortunately, when I try to Unregister the dll in Windows XP (regsvr32 /u xicr50.dll) I get the error "LoadLibray("xicr50.dll") failed - Invalid access to memory location". I will try to find a clean computer to install on, but that may be difficult.

>>I run the IS package as an administrator and under the Administrator command prompt in Windows 8 64 bit. No other libraries are being used in VFP. I'm currently trying to register the cryptor dll using VFP 8, but I do have a version of VFP 9 that I could try. We haven't upgraded our production application to VFP 9. I'd have to install it on the Windows 8 machine.

>>I've played with all of the DEP settings. It's a little different than previous windows versions. I currently have checked "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:". I have to manually enter "xicr50.dll" in the Add.. dialog as it only allows you to choose files of type exe. In previous windows versions we would turn DEP off at the command prompt using the AlwaysOff parameter, but that doesn't seem to work in Windows 8.

>>As of right now, I have an InstallShield package that successfully installs xicr50.dll. This one uses our DLL with ".xitech" changed to ".aspack" in the header. With this installed, I can't register the VFP tables. I get the following error in VFP "OLE exception error: Exception code c00000fd. OLE object may be corrupt". This is occurs on the "locryptor.watchdll("VFP8.EXE")" statement in my startup.

>How was VFP installed on this machine? From the VFP installer ? Or did you just copy it from somewhere? iow, can Cryptor correctly find VFP?

>Look, the right approach is VirtualBox, create a Virtual Windows machine, install VFP8, run the IS package for Cryptor, test using command box in VFP first as a manual test, next run your app. Anything short of doing this is just trial and error which looks like it has already taken more time than this approach would have taken :)
