http://blog.zorinaq.com/?e=74I like that "9-5 with kids" term. What some companies want is someone who sits at the keyboard without going home, does not eat, does not take breaks or go to the bathroom, and then drops dead at his/her desk. That is a "real employee"!
Over the years I have known a number of people that were hired by Microsoft, as well as Apple. You should hear the stories! Not nice. All programming houses want the developers blood and the customers money. How many companies have gone bust, and how many customers have pulled out all their hair? It is a fine industry! :)
