In another year when the projected results aren't achieved you'd probably have to tweak it again to limit the types of guns that are available for purchase. That didn't work? Those semi-auto rifles and shotguns must be the culprit. That didn't work either? Well, it would be too politically damaging to revert to the way it was, so let's just move the goalposts to make it look like we accomplished something.

You could argue it either way. And I know you will ;-) I have said before that I would hate to be against you in a debate tournament.

No, not out of economic necessity. My relatives were never in danger of starvation. People took care of each other then even when they didn't have much themselves. I called my mother this morning and we got reminiscing about my nana, my dad's father. She was never rich in money but a dozen people always seemed to show up for dinner. She was a natural cook. (As opposed to people like me who cook from recipes). She grew up without a father or any money. She said I was cooking for my younger siblings when I was 8. I said come on, that has to be a stretcher. She said no, it's not.
