I'm wondering myself who would be willing to play that role, it must be kind of intimidating. But imagine they would show the mistakes they made during shooting the movie, for instance when Lazarus starts laughing while walking out of the grave.

In like 98% of all Biblical texts I do not see any problem in a literal reading of the biblical text. The problem is that the readers often lack an unbiased viewpoint and also lack of the ability of analytical reading of a simple text, and instead of analyzing the text they prefer to accecpt traditional interpretations that is being taught in the schools. There are so many misinterpretations due to the missing of that simple ability of connecting the different dots together. One of the most famous and common mistakes is the interpretation of Jesus' parable of the 10 virgins, where the bridegroom is coming for the marriage and the five unwise virgins stay outside when the door is shut. Almost everbody knows this parable and in 95 out of 100 situations (rough estimate) you will read that the 10 virgins signify Christians, while when reading the text you must come to the conclusion that those virgins have nothing to do with Christians. But during all the years this parable is being used to intimidate Christians how they can stay behind if they don't take care and Jesus shut the door and they end up in hell. For that reason I prefer to read the Bible myself and not let anybody tell me what I have believe.

I had not viewied it on the History channel as we are not really TV people, so I received all 4 DVD's from NetFlix and watched all of it with my wife. I thought the bonus interviews were also very interesting, as they explained how they attempted as best they could to look at everything just from a "literal" (which was their words) basis from the Scriptures, and not frame the series in secular history and interpretation. Obviously they had to do some things to make it a movie, and only covered the big highlights as it was only 10 hours long. I was struck by the gentlement who played Jesus - very moving. The producers as a gift gave him a "first edition KJV" as a thank you, which I was surprised they were even able to find one.
