I agree and most folks I know agree with background checks. It doesn't prevent you from purchasing a weapon unless you have a criminal background. I don't know the planned stand on psychological requirements - that part is the most necessary but also the area with the highest potential for abuse. The question is, if it is implemented, what happens to the 270,000,000 to 310,000,000 weapons already in the hands of civilians?
