Interestingly, it's been thought that iOS on iPhones is secure e.g. if you're a crook and your iPhone is encrypted, cops can't read it. That may no longer be the case: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-57583843-38/apple-deluged-by-police-demands-to-decrypt-iphones/
