>>>>>>>>That is good advice Mike, or at least I like it, for I do not know what is good for Mike, or for anyone suffering depression or addiction. From the list of series in Netflix, I would add long running ones, some that I liked are "Monk", "How I met your mother", "Dexter"

He only recently started to enjoy reading by himself (I was thinking this time never comes) and he read almost all Lous Zachar books and now finishing up 'Series of unfortunate events'. I want to give him something similar, so he would enjoy reading it, but I am not sure what may be appropriate.

Oh, yeah. I read lots of those when I was a kid. Also, E. L. Konigsberg (who died recently)--she was best know for "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler," but I loved one called "About the B'nai Bagels," though kids today probably wouldn't get it. It's about a Little League team coached by a mom.

Also, the Boxcar Children (think the author is Warner).

Oh, Naomi, if your kids haven't read these yet, try All of a Kind Family. Wonderful story about a Jewish family at the turn of the 20th century. There are three or four books.

Also, though it may be hard to find, try K'tonton, by (I think) Sadie Rose Weilerstein. It's a kind of Jewish Tom Thumb.
