About the only technological innovation I would truly like to see is 3D printing advanced enough to be replicator technology.

Imagine clothing and feeding the billions via electrical input. The electricity could come from solar panel farms installed in desert areas -- turning otherwise useless "farm land" into an unending source of energy for daily food and necessities.
