>I have no experience with tables that larges but... Have you successfully reindexed the table in the past ? Sometimes on large tables in a system with limited memory FoxPro will build trees for the indexes so it appears that it is building the same index over and over again. I suspect that if you added some memory to your system you would see an improvement in speed. I could be wrong but if there is something happening that prevents indexing from succeeding your problems may be more severe than you think. What kind of machine are you running this on?

Thanks for the tip. The machine is pretty fast. Pentium II 300 Mhz with 64mb of RAM.

The indexes have not changed at all and the table used to take about 7 minutes to index. I let it attempt to index for 45 minutes, but it never finished.

Thanks for your help.
