I posted this in the Religion section because it links to a site which has a lot of religious content related to Jesus Christ.

However, the purpose of this post is to get some feedback on a new service in the works for a Liberty Software Foundation app store. It operates differently than other app stores. In summary:

(1) All apps are free (and digital content, print, video, audio, software).
(2) All apps can be downloaded in binary or source form (or both), with all digital works containing all source code and project files necessary to duplicate the work as published.
(3) All apps will have a "donate" button or link visible continually from the main screen.
(4) If users choose to donate, they will click the link and be directed to a website which processes their transaction.
(5) All money donated goes to the developers.
(6) Developers can choose to donate a percentage of their received donations to LibSF, but are not required to.
(7) Users can donate to LibSF as well if they choose.

The primary purpose is to foster an attitude built entirely around giving. The authors and developers give their digital creations to users, and the users give back if they choose (either by contributing to the project, or financially).
